I discovered that there were not many cost friendly accounting software that also did not require a large amount of time to setup and create. I wanted to create a user friendly software that is reliable, saves time and consolidates all accounting needs on one dashboard

Understand => Research => Ideate => Design => Test
I needed to get clear on the mental model of our target market and understand what they were having trouble accomplishing from both an informational side and a functional side. I also wanted to understand more deeply the customer journey and the transformation that they were looking to achieve in terms of solution. Based on the user needs gathered from research, I answered some How might we’s and brainstormed on ways to make the experience seamless. conducted comparative analysis and created user flows too
After I was done with the user research and analysed my findings, I created a User persona. I also came up with “How might we” statements in order to explore ideas that would help me design an effective solution for the user’s problems. This step of the process helped me focus on the core user needs and problems
I also carried out a competitive analysis on already existing Accounting platforms by evaluating their features, strengths and weaknesses. This gave me inspiration on my design direction and valuable insights in devicing a practical realistic UX Strategy for enhancing the user experience.
While Ideating, I created a user flow to better understand the step-by-step processes a user would need to take to complete an action. This user flow helped me identify areas for improvement and allowed me to optimize the user experience
After identifying core functionalities of the web app. I created variations for the brain identity for the team to make a choice as we didn’t have a brand identity designer as at that time. I created style guides which included the colors, typography, etc used for the design. it’s a little extensive but on a basic level.
I proceeded with the visual design phase for the project. Here, I will showcase a selection of screens, providing an explanation for each.
Let's start with the Home Page. This section features a hero illustration, along with a concise mission statement, designed to warmly welcome the user and communicate the product's purpose. The landing page offers users a choice between utilizing the free version or upgrading to the premium pro version
After the user previews the home page and logs into the web app, they encounter the sign-in screen. If the user hasn't yet created an account, they can click on the sign-up button. After filling in the required fields, an OTP (One-Time Password) is sent to their email for verification.
The dashboard is thoughtfully designed with a user-centric approach, offering a straightforward and intuitive interface that enables users to seamlessly execute essential accounting tasks. It comprises a range of quick and easily accessible actions, ensuring that users can efficiently manage their financial activities

Expense Tracking: The dashboard provides a comprehensive platform for users to track their expenses effortlessly. From monitoring day-to-day expenditures to categorizing transactions for accurate budgeting, this feature simplifies the process and empowers users with a clear view of their financial outflows
Financial Reporting: The dashboard allows users to analyze their income, expenses, and overall financial performance. equips users with the information they need to make informed choices.
Invoice Generation: The dashboard streamlines the invoice generation process, offering a user-friendly interface to input client details, products rendered and pricing. The user can effortlessly generate professional invoices and promptly send them to clients. This would ensure a smooth billing experience and also foster a strong business relationship.

Clients: The Clients page is a dedicated space designed to enable users to keep a comprehensive record of their transactions over time. It offers a centralized hub where users can monitor interactions with their clients, track payments received, and view historical transaction data.
Support: This support screen provides users with a direct avenue to seek assistance, guidance, or resolution for any issues they may encounter while using the web app. It's a screen that fosters a positive user experience and demonstrates my commitment to customers' satisfaction.
Settings: Here, users can enhance security and authenticity. The Settings page serves as a hub for account modifications allowing users to update personal information, adjust notification preferences, and configure other aspects of their account to align with their needs.
Finfast was originally designed to operate on a web-based platform. However, I made the choice to develop a High Fidelity prototype showcasing how the product would appear in a mobile view.
This phase brought the design concept to life allowing my company's stakeholders to experience how users will interact with different features and screens. It facilitated feedback and iterative improvements, ensuring the dashboard's usability, user experience, and overall functionality were thoroughly tested and refined.
During the design process, I gained valuable insights, particularly in the importance of communication and collaboration among team members. I also understood the significance of conducting accessibility checks and usability testing while working on a product. The user research phase also proved instrumental in enhancing my empathy skills
